Правило (с большим числом исключений), согласно которому выступающие части тела теплокровных животных имеют меньшие размеры у видов, обитающих в северных районах (из-за уменьшения теплоотдачи), чем у теплолюбивых видов; установлено Дж.Алленом в 1877.
